Let Freedom Bowl!!!

Bowling with the President

When elected President one my first executive orders will be to establish the White House Bowling League (WHBL). This league will bring together Americans from across the country to knock down pins of intolerance, bigotry, prejudice and hatred. This bowling league will be about splitting our differences and working together to spare those less fortunate. The alley will provide us with a forum to discuss the key issues of the day and frame the debate. Bowling together we can pick up the 7/10 split of social security and healthcare. To the anti-bowling turkey naysayers seeking to throw this great country into the gutter, I say not on my watch! Instead we shall unite to strike those who stand against us freedom and the American way of life.

The league will be bi-partisan and roll in the White House Bowling Alley. Any U.S. citizen is welcome to join; however, space will be limited due to the size of the alley. Whether you bowl from the left side or the right side, all will be welcome to loft their ball. Those interested in joining the WHBL please post a comment on the blog to the attention of WHBL Commissioner, Stephen "Car Crash" DeRose.

Shoe rental will cost $1.00 and bowling balls in various weights will be made available.

History of the White House Bowling Alley:
In 1947 bowling lanes were built in the ground floor of the West Wing (in the location of the present-day Situation Room) as a birthday gift for President Truman. The lanes were moved to the Old Executive Office Building in 1955 to make way for a mimeograph room (a duplicator for making many copies that utilizes a stencil through which ink is pressed.) In 1969 friends of President and Mrs. Nixon paid for a new one-lane bowling alley to be built in an underground workspace are below the driveway leading to the North Portico.

I have my own bowling shirt. Will I be able to use that, or will I have to buy a new one for the WHBL?
